Skandagiri there once laid a majestic Tipu Sultan fort built by the great ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore, Tipu Sultan in the 18th century to fight against the British Raj. Unfortunately, Tipu Sultan lost the battle and the fort went into the hands of the British. It remained in the hands of the British Raj until the Peace Treaty in 1792. After that, the fort had to take a hit and it now lies in a dilapidated condition with only some of its walls remaining that stand tall to tell the tale of an unforgettable historic event.
